Hi everyone,

So am just curious to know what the buttons are used for on the left side of the metrolink cab, more specifically the ones on the sort of box shaped device on the left of the drive. From just watching what the driver does i have come to the conclusion that they press one of the buttons when they are at a station directly followed by a set of traffic light when running in the city. I have also seen drivers press a button on the lower panel when waiting to leave bury (i am assuming this is something to do with the section of line being signaled) just wanted to know if what i thought was correct had me wondering for a while.

Cheers, Luke

Its called RTS (ready to start) they use it to control traffic signals etc it sends a message from the tram to the signals, its so they don't change whilst they are waiting at a stop. They can either press the green button below the box or the button on the box.
