Just watched a YouTube video of trains at Rugby filmed on 25/5/1988 which included a shot of 47323 on a southbound loaded MGR. Trying to recall what that flow would have been?
From what I remember the MGRs went to that cement works just to the North of Tring Cutting . I “think” it was called Pitstone Cement or something like that . I commuted from Northampton to London in those days , so often saw the workings
