Right ok good, what sort of things will i be asked you think? Im coming from a background as a motor mechanic, what should i brush up on?If it’s assessment 2 it’s an interview mate best of luck. You should have received an email by now with a letter explaining that it is under consideration with the hiring manager.
Cool so wont be related specifically to the job? What sort of questions do you think they will ask?Tbh mate it should be based on the 8 non technical skills and the safety vision. If it’s the same as the signaller interviews. Hopefully someone else in your field may be able to enlighten you. It’s gonna be tell me about a time sort of example based interview
Thanks, just a bit worried as im coming from the motor trade so dont have any rail experience, but i know id pick it up quickly if i got the job, just want to be as prepared as i can for any questions they might ask.I would check with HR on any interview format for engineer and technicians jobs - I suspect there will indeed be "non-technical" skills questions, however they most likely will also ask about your technical skills/knowledge/experience/technical scenarios etc if it is like any other interview for a technical role.
Cheers mate.Just look at the essential skills listed for the job spec. Then basically answer the question tell me about a time when I did these tasks. Make sure you are armed with examples
Thanks appreciate it.They will ask about NR safety vision make you can remember this when they ask:

Brilliant cheers. As others have said. Definitely prepare well with scenarios of a time when you showed this skill, or that competency that is essential to your specific job role. Cannot emphasise enough being properly prepared, your competition will likely be stronger than you expect.
Thanks appreciate it.
No worries.
Also think of time when you’ve been in a health safety situation yourself.
Cheers, will i be asked any technical questions you think?Yeah an emergency situation where I have had to work calmly under pressure and how you dealt with the situation. What did you do that made the difference
