Hi everyone, i can't find if this has been discussed already but Northern are running a "semifast" extra service from the December 10th timetable change between Newcastle and Middlesborough.
Does anyone know if they're bringing in an extra train or two or just using what they've already got?.

Apparently needs 2 x 156s. It’s mentioned in a closed thread from earlier this year in the speculation forum:

Shame it's not stopping at Stockton, which is the third largest settlement on the line and is considerably bigger than Thornaby. However, I appreciate that the latter is an important interchange station and is much closer to the Southern part of Stockton.

I don't know why it doesn't just stop at all the stations for a complete service to be honest

Timings allow for a Hartlepool stop once the new southbound platform is open.
Most trains seem to be booked via the King Edward Bridge into Newcastle west end bay platforms. That will cost a couple of minutes. Overall timings are a bit disappointing, the line really needs line speed lifting, it's only 60 from Hartlepool to Sunderland.
