Newbury to Maidenhead next day return

Occasionally I take an evening off peak train from Newbury to Maidenhead and then return the next day (usually off peak).

This requires two singles. Is there a cheaper way I can buy a return?

The only Newbury-Maidenhead return tickets are "day returns" so would not assist you as they are valid only for return on the same day as the outward journey. This is also true for Bedwyn-Maidenhead return tickets. Offpeak return tickets, valid for return within the month beginning with the date of outward travel, are available for Pewsey-Maidenhead, but they start at £24.50 for a super offpeak return and it will therefore be cheaper to buy Newbury/Maidenhead offpeak day singles at £10.90 each.

If the OP isn't travelling solely on Sat/Sun and holds a Network Card then a Newbury - Burnham Off Peak Return costs £15.85 (including discount). The only restriction on weekday travel would be the requirement to start each leg of the journey after 10am.
