Newport island platform

The island platform buildings at Newport have looked like a building site with hoardings and scaffolding since the electrification work began years ago now. Does anyone know what they are doing, and when, or if, the work will ever be finished?

The island platform buildings at Newport have looked like a building site with hoardings and scaffolding since the electrification work began years ago now. Does anyone know what they are doing, and when, or if, the work will ever be finished?

They had actually finished with all the electrification work by 2019. This current work is to replace the glass panels in the canopy. Lord knows when they'll finish though...

Thanks, there never seems to be any work going on, although admittedly that is an impression gleaned from passing through rather than time spent on the platform.
