Was going to Clapham junction and there were announcements at Brondesbury that said trains were cancelled due to ohle damage ,

I got on the last Clapham junction bound train ( 2Y78) , all other trains seem to be cancelled due to damage to the wires near Highbury and Islington.

The advice from National Rail Delays is most confusing. Is the problem on the North London Line or on the Tottenham Hale to Stratford line, or are there two separate incidents of a similar nature, one on each line? Why would problems on the NLL affect the other line, and vice versa?

Description
Lines between Stratford and Tottenham Hale are closed and service is suspended between Stratford and Meridian Water / Bishops Stortford due to damage to the overhead electric wires. Lea Bridge will not be served.

Lines between Stratford and Highbury & Islington, which were affected by the same incident, have reopened but some cancellations and alterations are possible whilst normal service resumes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Could the problem be at Stratford itself, where the two lines use adjacent platforms. They may share a feed, or one may have to be shut down to work on the other?

Message seems perfectly clear and refers to one incident.

Depends on where the OHL damage occurred, ie if signaller received emergency call from a driver, there will of been an emergency switch off of the overheads , which at times, such as this seems to take out a large area.

Once the specific area is identified, the OHL fault teams can start shortening back the affected area and get some lines, such as the NLL reopened.

A friend of mine who works for the railway posted this earlier. I don't know the exact location but it doesn't look pretty! I believe the area is Lea Bridge?

This was around 1500.

With the NLL affected, I assumed that the affected sections are in or near Stratford Station itself rather than the rather vague "between Stratford and Meridian Water".

Many reports are like this - an issue at (eg) Alexandra Palace (which is often given away by the allocated hashtag) is reported as "between King's Cross and Stevenage". Fair enough, I guess, it's accurate for the end user. Just not us detail chasers :D

Lea Bridge by the looks of open train times with a train (2S27) stuck in the middle of it. The picture suggests just south of there and just north of Orient Way CS.

The wide area of OLE may well be due to feeding arrangements in that area.
