Northern careers website application updates

Hi just wondering if all application updates that are sent by email can also be viewed on your northern rail account?

I recently applied for a conductor vacancy based at Wigan with northern but when creating my online account I've registered with an incorrect email address (basically spelt my own name wrong!!!) and only realised after I'd submitted my application and the deadline of the vacancy passing. There is no option on the website to change the email address and the email I entered as already been registered by someone else. So far I've been able to see any updates when logging into the northern account.

Yesterday I received a message stating

"I’m pleased to let you know that you have met the standard we were looking for on both of the online tests.

Your application has now been put forward for the final stage in our shortlisting process, where we will assess your application in relation to the role criteria and requirements."

and then today after logging in a message saying

"Your application is now under consideration and is being screened.

Please bear with us as we work through all of the applications that we received. We will be in contact again with an update for you as soon as we have one."

I'm guessing the next update will be if I've been invited for an interview or not made the cut and it's the end of process. Just wondering if I will also be able to view this update on the northern account?

You will be able to see all responses on your account with Northern. If you’re invited for interview, you can also confirm your attendance via the website. Best of luck.

Yes you will be able to view all application updates on your account. For me, my account actually updated two days before I received email confirmation each time I passed a stage in the process.

Have you emailed the HR team or your HR contact to advise the email on your application is incorrect?

This may cause issues if any communications are sent to you direct, and not through the system and you miss out on them.
