A few questions.

Is there any source for Northern Ireland train reporting numbers? They appear on the monitors installed at key stations and appear to be of the form:

A1xx Belfast to Dublin
B2xx Lisburn to Bangor
B3xx Portadown to Bangor
B4xx Belfast to Londonderry / Portrush
B7xx Belfast to Larne

The numbering seems to start at x01 for the first train south and x00 for the first train north and then just go up with each service. Are there gaps in the numbers? How are Coleraine to Portrush shuttles numbered?

Given people ask under FOI for East Coast and London Overground diagrams, presumably a set of Translink diagrams could be similarly sourced via a FOI request. I don't think this has been done to date.

Like the IE Train ID system the NIR has a Alpha code and three digits to describe the train.

Looking at one of my NIR WTT's the codes are as follows:

A: Cross Border Railcar / Locomotive Hauled Train.
B: Local Railcar Passenger.
C: Infrastructure Trains.
D: Trips from Depot to Belfast.
E: Empty Train Movements.
F: Trips to Fortwilliam Depot from Belfast.
L: Light Engine Movements with NIR Locomotives.
R: Light Engine Movements with IE Locomotives.
S: Light Engine Movements with RPSI Steam Locomotives.
T: Steam Locomotive Hauled Train.
X: Train operating on Mainline under Chief Mechanical Engineers supervision.
Y: Trips to York Road Depot from Belfast.
Z: Short Trip movements and Shunting moves.

Strangely and unlike the IE Timetable notes there is no guide in the NIR WTT to tell you where each train is bound for. E.G. on IE a A2xx is a train to/from Cork Line.

A leaf through the WTT reveals:

1: Dublin.
2: Lisburn.
3: Bangor / Portadown / Newry.
4: Derry / Londonderry
5: Portrush
7: Larne (and other destinations on the line).

Down Trains are even numbered.
Up Trains are odd numbered.

The IE one is far easier to describe!

The Wanderer.
