My card was declined on a Northern Rail train; consequently I received a form which contained a reference number, a phone number I was to ring, and a time limit within which I had to pay the price of the ticket. I have misplaced the form, and was wondering if anybody knows (of) the number I'm talking about, or another number I can ring to obtain this number. The customer service number listed on the website redirected me to National Rail Customer Service, who were unable to help me.

(((deleted - apols.. apparently it is now IRCAS, until told otherwise)))

Until recently there was no (external) telephone number - any appeals or queries are usually expected in writing as they are often used by the company at a later date, should a case progress to court. They may have introduced a number for card payments perhaps.

Northern Rail's is not IRCAS - theirs is done 'in house'. Their debt recovery and prosecutions unit was certainly above Bradford Interchange quite recently.

Still located there, although not sure what their role is now - probably just processing things for court.
