Is there any idea when Hull might get some trains of this century, as the trains they have seem very old.

Sorry couldn’t find a northern rail thread

Hull will get new trains on Northern as part of their wider fleet replacement, so orders are likely to be placed in 2026, with rollout around 2030 to finally replace the Sprinters.

I think that the Halifax to Hull and York to Bridlington services are pretty likely candidates to receive new bi-mode trains to make use of new TRU electrification.

The Scarborough to Sheffield and Hull to Doncaster services are likely to remain operated by 170s and 158s respectively for the next few years until Northern receive their second tranche of new trains.

The signallers at York ROC would be glad to see the back of the lethargic Class 155s from the East Coast Mainline.
