Northern - Trainee Driver - Leeds (May 2024)

Hello!

I have applied for a trainee train driver position in Leeds. The closing date was the 12th. Anyone else applied? I have a question about the application form and if anyone has any insight.... I didn't use all the characters available in my answers. Does anyone know whether this will mean my application will be immediately disregarded? And if so, how quickly do they let people know they haven't made the grade for an interview? I am going to update and revise my application for future vacancies! Good luck to everyone.

If you have fully answered the question, then it doesn't matter how many words you have used. I'm sure they don't want people padding out their answers just to boost the word count.

I think it varies, I applied for Sheffield which closed Easter weekend and that was just over 2 weeks until I heard back. Reading the Manchester thread on here though, that looks to have moved slower I think

I passed my psychometrics on Friday (26/7), just waiting for next steps (medical then talent pool) to be emailed through. When did you do your assessment?

Sorry for the late reply I’ve been at work all weekend. I submitted my application on the 10th May, don’t give up hope though I applied for a position in Sheffield last year and didn’t hear anything for 6 months before getting the interview invite

I did mine Monday 22nd got talent pool email on Tuesday. Not sure how many positions they’re filling this year but fingers crossed it doesn’t take over 9 months

Shouldn't do, theres a fair few driver vacancies at Leeds, its space at the academy which is limited at the mo.
