Hi guys I’ve recently noticed these written on the ‘line’ section for some train times on RTT, I’ve looked at the FAQ about it doesn’t explain what they mean, could someone help me out.

SL=Slow Line
FL=Fast Line

What specific locations have you seen the others?

As follows, Blackfriars junction - USH and Dock junction north - MOL.

Also no actual real times times show, just the WTT.

Blackfriars junction is up snowhill
Dock junction north would be up moorgate, down moorgate or up and down reversable, never heard of MOL. Could you be more specific.

There’s something else goes on with RTT in certain areas though, the planned line designations are sometimes replaced by something else once the service has passed through, and there are other codes show up. I noticed this in the Reading area quite a while ago, I think someone came up with an explanation.

If you look at the RTT schedule for a random Thameslink service there are numerous other codes in the “line column” apart from the obvious self explanatory ones.

To make it slightly easier for you guys to see what I mean as there is a few things I’m unsure of, one of the workings was this -
9K16 0829 Orpington to Luton

Area-specific line designations are shown on Trackmaps, but they are subject to change.

Most line codes are shown in the Timetable Planning Rules as well. Section 1.3.4
