Here's a rail special you don't see too often. I believe the last time was when the Pope came to visit Ireland recently.

And it's a sell out! Well done everyone who's letting the train take the strain to the FAI Cup Final. Imagine if we had a direct train service to Dublin all the time, rather than just one-offs? Let's all push to make that happen Rail should be for Life & not just for finals

From the event page, it's difficult to see the timings now that it's sold out, but they are:

Sunday 13 November 2022
08:25 Derry~Londonderry
09:00 Coleraine
10:13 Belfast Lanyon Place

It's not clear what the arrival time at Dublin Connolly is. Tickets included travel on the DART to the Aviva. A return journey is scheduled for 18:55 the same day, presumably taking the same route back.

The special takes 1h48 from Derry to Belfast Lanyon Place, this is in comparison to the usual timetabled services taking 2h01. Not needing to stop at as many stations at least partially explains the reduced duration.

Tickets were priced at £48.50.

What is being used on it? I presume a 3000 as that is likely the only stock cleared on the entire section? I do not believe the 4000 are allowed in the ROI and i do not believe the 22000 and 29000 are cleared up to Derry nor do the Irish Rail staff sign up there? I presume that the locomotive hauled Enterprise Stock is not cleared to Derry although i can not find anything to confirm?

Yes will be a 3000 as thats what NI R use on specials.

There have been multiple specials to Dublin by NIR most recently during the summer with various concerts etc. Will absolutely be a 3k set (or 2) from the lowest numbered units as they are the only ones with CWAS.
