Just passed an unidentified 50x (the one in Poppy livery if that helps) off the road at Kirkdale depot. Doesn't seem to be disrupting services. Looks like a possible points issue.

Bet nobody wanted that on Boxing Day...

Not seen this already reported, but 507002 derailed on Kirkdale depot, presumably this morning. It hasn't appeared to cause disruption to services however.

Looks like a set of points has moved underneath the train. 507010 (the unit coupled to it) had been moved by around 15:30. No idea about 507002 though, there are a lot of units trapped on Kirkdale depot-if It isnt shifted overnight, tomorrow's service will probably be affected.

It happened in the early morning of Christmas Eve, I'm assuming they've just taken there time moving it!

It actually happened on the early morning of Christmas Eve and with a bit of extra shunting a full service was able to run. I assume it's being moved today at some point

I was wondering while looking for Christmas messages on the signalling diagrams what the birth with 'oops' in it was! Guess that mystery is solved

Am I right in thinking that this isn't the first time 002 has derailed - Hasn't it either ran away or derailed already in the past?

507002 was inside Birkenhead North in early part of November getting work done of it including some / all bogies. Co-incidence I'm sure.

Looking for births on Christmas is appropriate, but train describers have berths ;)
