Is there any way of going to a specific location on openrailwaymap by inserting co-ordinates as one can on openstreetmap? (And the reverse too. If I right-click in openstreetmap I can get the co-ordinates for the location I'm clicking on, but there seems to be no equivalent in openrailwaymap.)

Try this. Click on 'permalink' in the top left menu. That gives a URL with the current lat/lon. Edit lat/lon in the URL to go elsewhere.
