OVpay App Problem!!

Hello, I've just installed the OVpay app on my mobile phone for travel in Amsterdam and surrounding areas. I keep on having a recurring problem where the credit card I have attached to the app is described as a 'debit card'. I have tried removing and reinstalling and always select credit card (not debit card) via the selection tabs. I've tried clearing cache, ect but the end result is always the same. Will the app still work for me if the card is otherwise described as a debit card?? Any help in the matter will be very much appreciated!!

Greetings from NL here now. I suspect it will not be a problem, and in the case it will not work: use JUST that cr-card, forget the app, and it will also work. Its a national system for all forms of public transit that also still accept that chipcard. Here in NL in the current practice there is not really a difference between how debit/credit cards work. Thats more for the back-office far behind.
Note that when you make more trips in 1 day, the total will be billed the night after from whatever card you used. There is-other as in some other countries where they have now accepted this means of direct payment as of now NO daily cap or the like.
Just in case you wanted to explore more of this area and use transport: there is also a Amsterdam+region dayticket besdies the one from GVB for city area.

How did you add your card to the app? By paying € 0,01?
When browsing through the FAQ on the OVpay website I noticed there is a question what to do in case the app doesn't work after adding it that way so apparently they now that process has bugs.

You do not need the app unless you want to add a discount or see transactions immediately. So using OVpay will work fine. Should the app not work and you've used the method above, the FAQ states you should remove it and add the card again using the NLOV code from your card statement.

My UK Mastercard credit card shows as a debit card in the OVPay app too, but works fine for tap on tap off and transactions show in the app. Tested today

Dear All,
Thank you so much for your replies and comments. They have been most helpful. It seems by the last comment it doesn't really matter. I simply want to be able to see my transactions. Thank you all!!
