Oyster - Incomplete Journey Refund

I have a first-generation Oyster I use very infrequently. Last week I had an incomplete journey. I input the info into my account and it was accepted. I've now received an email saying my refund has been cancelled as it hasn't been collected. There's a number to phone if I want them to process it again. I'm guessing that you have to tap in somewhere within a week, and I'm not going to be in London for ages. Is that right? I'm not losing sleep about it.

You should also be able to ask them to pay it back via bank transfer (BACS) if you won't be in London for a while.

Call the number and explain that you won't be in London for a while. They should take bank details and pay direct to your account.
