Evening all,

Any suggestions for splits for a PRIV Single Paddington - Cardiff Central, travelling on a weekday with no Season ticket held?

So far I've managed to get it down from £24.90 to £18.90 by splitting at Reading and Swindon.

Cheers,

Barry

bit new to this, but maybe

Thames Branches Day Ranger for London to Reading, at £4.40, instead of a £5.15 single?

Didcot is the usual place for a split, but not everything stops there. Everything stops at Rdg and Swi,, so that's safer.

London - Didcot - £6.90
Didcot - Bristol Parkway - £6.50
Bristol Parkway - Cardiff - £2.80
So £16.20 in total, but the train must stop at Didcot Parkway, so your suggestion splitting at Reading and Swindon may be preferable.

Alternatively, £11.85 for an Anytime Day Single from London to Cardiff, route Warminster-Salisbury, but obviously the journey will be much longer.

Thought as much, and my colleague's planning on getting one of the xx:45's from Paddington, which doesn't call at Didcot.
