Parking at Crewe?

What are the chances that one shows up to Crewe for an 0900 weekday departure and finds the station car park(s) full?

I'm looking at an Advance ticket so would need a good (and reasonably nearby) Plan B if there is any appreciable risk with the station car park(s).

And I would be away for 72 hours, so normal town-centre car parks would probably not be viable for Plan B.

Advice, please

For day trips, there is parking available not far from Crewe station, the cost of which ranges from free to a daily charge that's usually less than the amount Virgin charge for their car parking at the station.

If you're away for longer than a day, I think the Virgin car park is probably best & I would personally use the one nearest to the new entrance (opposite B&Q) as it's a) closest to the station & b) in a public area that's not isolated.

I second this advice.

I have parked at the Crewe Arms Hotel - has been cheaper than the Virgin Offerings. Since then the new entrance and car park has opened. You may want to check the prices for the hotel, though.

Right next to the other Virgin run car park (Pedley Street car park) there's a council one that takes cards and RingGo and is free on Sundays (there are instructions when using RingGo to discount any Sundays when you book a stay of multiple days including a Sunday). £3.50 a day, which is cheaper than Virgin's £8.50 (before 10am)/£5 (after 10am) weekdays, but more expensive than Virgin's £2.50 on Saturdays. And of course, free on Sunday. Weston Road car park (which has a direct subway into the station) is £10 a day peak time, but last time I checked it was still £2.50 at weekends, but this doesn't show online (shows N/A) so maybe double check the signage. Still, I recommend the council run one next to Virgin's Pedley Street one.

Happy to confirm as of yesterday it is still £2.50 per day at weekends.

There's also a large car park just beyond the football ground on Gresty Road (no further than the far end of the VT car park) which allows multi-day parking and is secure. It's the one we use.
