TBH, Tring is not a good station for phots IMO due to the Up and Down Slow lines being separated by the loop, I see you got "bowled" for possibly the most interesing train that morning, 6X48 the Wolverton stock move. Berkhamsted, Leighton Buzzard or Cheddington are better though the latter does not have such a good train service if you are going round by train however, the view looking north is worth a visit:

If you are coming by road then you might consider Cow Roast south of Tring:

It is walkable from Tring (been there, done that etc.!) but probably not a good idea if the weather was as unpredictable as Saturdays (like the pic of the Pendo in the rain BTW)

Windoze11, have direct linked the pics for your benefit however on my site (Zenfolio) you need to be signed into it to get the direct link to work, if not signed in it is quicker to just grab the link to the picture and post that. There is also the issue of bandwidth and, personally speaking, if I have a whole collection of photos to "plug" it is better to post the link and say what is in there then people can decide themselves whether to look or not rather than shove them "in your face" so to speak.

Not having a go at anybody with the last statement, it's a free world and it is up to the individual how they want to show their pictures :) . Another reason for posting the link is that direct linking doesn't add to the hit count of pictures for those who are bothered by such things - I have more pressing things to worry about!

thanks 33056, yeah, found out the hard way that Tring was not the station to be at

Have been to Chedders before and it is very good but I'm thinking of Wolverton in the future as well as a few more stations between MKC and Euston which doesn't include Tring or Cheddington or even Watford Junction.

Maybe Harrow and Wealdstone?
