Must say I don't know what's happening here. I just want my usual super-off peak return from Plumstead to Cranbrook (London not underground), outbound on Sunday 1 September, it's £51.20 I tried forum site, best it was offering was £52 but that split at Lewisham which is quite restrictive. Turned splits off, no flexible fares. Went over to LNER, no fares. I didn't think there's any quota issues on SWR. Could I just get this from a ticket machine on the day? I have another ticket to get for later in week but want to sort this first

I'm guessing it's because trains aren't running to Charing Cross that day, which is the only valid route (via Waterloo East and Waterloo) through London for that ticket. I'm pretty sure you can get a ticket from the ticket machine or the ticket office, and ticket acceptance is in place that day for the Underground.

Yes, it's going to be that. The flexible tickets are all routed London Not Und, so no valid journey can be composed. Advance fares are routed +SWR & Connection, so will allow the underground from London Bridge to Waterloo.

Ticket machines should sell it without difficulty. Southeastern ticket clerks are starting to get into the silly habit of using journey planners to sell long-distance tickets so might fall into the same rabbit-hole.

Thank you - it's strange they don't code in some solution for these days! Sometimes I find the cheaper fares aren't available at ticket machines on the day, though they should be. Hopefully they will be! As far as I'm aware you can't buy from ticket machines for a future date? Wondered why I was being sent via Denmark Hill.

Most ticket machines (including the S&B ones that Southeastern, amongst many other TOCs, uses) do have functionality that allows you to select a future date, although it's not always obvious.

It sometimes, I think, starts with selecting the option to buy tickets from another station.
