It seems that the British Library, the National Library of Scotland, the National Library of Wales, Bodleian Libraries, Cambridge University Library and Trinity College Dublin, are now able to preserve the UK's (and Ireland's?) contributions to the web.
The British Library to commemorate this has published a list of the top 100 websites that should be preserved for future generations to use.
It is quite an interesting list, that along with obvious candidates such as Parliament.UK and the Met Office, lists sites that offer social commentary of our time like Neverseconds, The Dreamcast Junkyard, Argos
hock: and Chavtowns.
I didn't notice anything particularly railway related (although for some reason this forum is archived here) but my particular favourite has got to b thee Glamping website and S*** London (I can't believe we even censor URL shortners :-x)
So what d other people think should be preserved for prosperity or historical interest from the internet, the routing guide and it's various versions perhaps?
