Sorry for stupid question but when is a 8-car forming a service on SWR is coach 1 nearest the ticket barrier at London Waterloo and coach 8 furthest away?

For example, service 1L29 11.20 to Exeter St Davids and Yeovil Junction is formed as 159016 + 159017. Coach 1 is 159016 and Coach 6 is 159017. Which way round is the formation in relation to London?

Thanks in advance

The numbering convention I see on RTT - for example, SWR Waterloo-Portsmouth & Portsmouth-Waterloo - has Coach 1 as the coach which will be at the front when the train reaches its destination.

Where 2 or 3 units are working together, it means Coach 1 will alternate between the units, depending on which one is "leading" for each service.
