Railcard renewal - is it worth the risk of renewing it on the day ?

My railcard expired over a week ago and my next journey is tomorrow. In order to get the maximum amount of time on the railcard I was intending to renew online tomorrow and purchase a digital one, immediately prior to travel. I also secured a Tesco code just before they destroyed their generous clubcard scheme.
Is it wise to purchase this tomorrow. ie can I trust their IT systems will work ?
Or should I purchase today and reduce the risk?

I’d never leave something to the day, especially if it’s a digital railcard!

So, a railcard is £30 per year...

(or £10 in Tesco vouchers if purchased before their Clubcard scheme changed recently).

This equates to maybe 8 pence per day.

Seems a rather trifling amount to be concerned about.

You may, of course, disagree.

So I renewed, got the digital code, entered into the app, pressed enter and got the error message :
"oops something went wrong"
Then went online into my account and selected the valid railcard which expires 17/06/24 and under 'manage devices' it says :
"You currently have no devices associated with this digital Railcard"

But there is no link to add a device to it ?

I then go into my expired railcard online and notice it now says 'replaced' not 'expired' ?

Then I spent an hour trying various solutions :

This is what I eventaully found worked :

1. Completely remove the digital railcard app from my phone including all its data.
2. Reinstall the app.
3. Generated another download code within my online account
4. Entered the download code into the appropriate screen on the app and pressed enter.

The stress and time this has taken ! It certainly needed to be done the day before travel. No way would I have coped tomorrow morning just before I needed to travel!

Lesson learnt, dont save 8p !!
