Is there an app for smartphone that does the same job as Raildar website showing live train movements?
Thank you - Just what I was looking for.https://traksy.uk isn't an app, but it's designed to work exactly like an app on smartphones.
I`ve just joined the 21st Century and invested in a Smart phone last week and just discovered Raildar, its quite amazing finding all this technology, is there a website for freight movements?
I suspect there's a lot out there, although if I'm honest I've never really had more than a cursory look.
Mods, I appreciate this may not be the right place to ask, but given the increasing use of mobile technology to deliver rail data, maps etc, is there a possibility of a sub-forum specifically for mobile apps, web sites etc to be flagged up and even reviewed by members? It could be a useful resource for new and existing members, I know this year I'm very likely to have a lot more travelling for work and leisure so I'd certainly welcome a single area to have a look at mobile apps to play with whilst moving about the country!

I don't think there is anything that shows the live movements of freight trains as raildar does for TOCs, but certainly things like Traksy and Opentraintimes will show freights on their track maps. In terms of looking up freight movements, there is freightmaster (@Freightmaster) but it's a payware site, or you can use sites like realtimetrains (with certain filters enabled, such as "Freight Only") to look up freight movements at specific stations, as well as seeing if they are (nominally) running

Which site snd located where? There is no information in your question to allow a reasonable answerI’ve just seen something on the site listed above which was marked with the head code/train reporting code (not sure which) RIPX. Does anyone know what that means? It has since disappeared.
