On the Realtime Trains there are some abbreviations that I don't understand; is Flhh the same as Fhh, referring, I assume, to Freightliner Heavy Haul?

What is Southampton M.C.T?

Thanks in advance.

Unsure, I thought it was the same, but then also what's the difference between Portbury Fhh and Portbury Ews coal terminals? Don't both use the same yard/siding/stock pile or is it divided in two for the two different FOCs?

M.C.T is Maritime Container Terminal from what I remember

Many (but not all) freight terminals which are served by more than one
FOC have different 'STANOX' numbers for each FOC to make it easier
for train planners to see who is running what.

Normally the names used are self-explanatory, but in some cases they
can be significantly different from one FOC to another, for example the
numerous coal loading points in the Immingham area, which often catch
me out!

There are many other anomalies/exceptions, such as Tunstead,
which has three different location names (for DB, FHH and GBRf).
GBRf trains are fine - they use their dedicated location, but for
some reason, FHH trains always use the DB one instead of their own!

Part 1, correct.

Part 2: Southampton Maritime Container Terminal

It is mainly to do with track access billing as separating them out makes this easier. STANOX numbers are meaningless to us (unless you use them as a quicker way of navigating around TRUST), we just use TIPLOCS normally.

On a slightly related matter (and to save another thread), is there no process that allows for location names to be updated when naming becomes out of date?

It irritates me slightly that having baled out about ten years ago, the local works is still usually referred to as Eastleigh Alstom...

Thanks for the info on locations, I was unaware of that :)

SWT Passenger - Good point, how long has Bristol Barton Hill been an LNWR depot I wonder? I thought it was new, in which case I note it is in the WTT's as Barton Hill LNWR, but examples like Eastleigh and freight terminals like EWS still exist, I doubt freight terminals matter that much though.

Isn't Derby still labelled as an Adtranz depot too?
