Planned travel from Bucknell (BUK) on the 12:06 to LLandovery (LLV) today , returning later in the afternoon. Anytime Day Return Ticket purchased on the train as no facilities at Bucknell station. Due to late running of train from Llanelli (LLE) we were held for 44min at Knighton . I bailed out at this point & returned to Bucknell as I couldn't complete my planned stop in Llandovery before returning .
I cannot find any link to make this claim online only by post. Am I missing something ? Thanks

As it's a paper ticket, you may indeed need to post it back - though it won't cost you anything:

Thanks for that, I was hoping to just send off an email or follow a link on their web site.

You should have an option to scan your paper ticket into an online claim form. They usually allow you to upload a photo.
Might be worth messaging on twitter for the correct link.

This is not for delay repay though, this is a refund of an unused ticket from the retailer. As it’s a paper ticket, it has to be returned.

I am sure there is an option somewhere to send a picture of the cut up tickets for a refund in this situation? I don't have the ability to go hunting for the link right now though.

I called at Hereford Station and had a very interesting discussion with the TFW booking office staff who insisted I should make a Delay Repay claim , even when I pointed out the relevant National rail conditions F 30.1. They couldn't get their head round that I could get a full refund even having started but then abandoned the journey due to the subsequent delay.

When I've done refunds, LNER (not sure if TfW is different) accepted photos (not even cut up even though they should have been!) for a refund.

When doing delay claims, TfW are sticklers for insisting that the ticket Is cut up or struck through, and will demand a new photo/scan to prove it. But I would be wary about doing that for a refund until they ask for it

Update:- I emailed TFW Customer relations ( [email protected] ) and the reply confirmed I could claim a full refund for tickets purchased at TFW ticket offices, vending machines or on TFW trains at any TFW ticket office , within 28 days from the tickets validity. Or send the tickets to Customer relations.
I went back to Hereford Station with a copy of said email and was refunded the ticket price with no deduction. The staff member still seemed unsure about abandonment after starting a journey, but accepted the email .
