Hi there,
I had an auction open for a Euston to Glasgow journey this Saturday at 07.30.
Was available on that service but in the early hours if this morning got a message to say no upgrades available.
Please see attached screenshot of app.
Does this mean someone just bid £35 so they ended it (I would have probably, had I known) or do they know the service is cancelled?
Also, is a Weekend upgrade on the train still available and how much please?
Might conside Standard Premium also.

Looks like somebody did the buy now price and got it. U can do a weekend upgrade on board with the conductor. Go and sit in first class then when the guard comes through you can pay the upgrade fee to them. Same with standard premium.

On Avanti at the weekend, would this be an upgrade from Standard to Standard Premium, or from Standard to First? Can you upgrade onboard if holding a Standard Advance ticket? Also, what's the likely add-on cost, which presumably varies depending on the distance travelled / journey made.

You’re just paying an anytime single first class for your journey.

This is wrong.

OP what happened was there are no more free first class spaces available for SeatFrog, so it got ended early with the winning bidder taking it for £35.

SeatFrog is only allocated 1/2 certain seats, which are available based on demand - if all seats are sold out, Avanti will take that seat off, however, if somebody’s bid - the auction will end early instead.

That’s basically what I said. Someone did buy now at 35 quid cos the auction end date and time is tomorrow morning. Someone did buy now so it ended early and they’ve taken the seat that was available.

Also you say it’s an anytime single first class. That’s incorrect. It will be a a weekend upgrade supplement

Thanks for the replies.
So to upgrade to First... are there "Weekend First" type upgrades or just the option to upgrade to full price?

There’s Weekend Standard Premium upgrades, but no Weekend First upgrades on Avanti anymore. Euston to Glasgow is £30.00:

Thanks, that's a great shame.
I might have just paid the £35 on Seatfrog had I known.
Cheers for the info though. :)
