There order book for the past few years in the UK seems to be suburban stock. Will they diversify with the Desiro City or continuing production with the standard Desiro UK?
I think SWR are Bombardier now. I like the Desiro so it's a shame to see none being built.I'm not sure whenever the Siemens continues to built more Desiro UK or not. But I was thinking the idea about South Western Railway and Angel Trains could order the new 127 carriages so the can extend all of the 127 Class 450 Desiros into 5 carriages and they could be coupled up into 10 carriages to ease overcrowding. And Siemens could order more 3 Class 450 Desiro and 5 more Class 444 Desiros to increase the Commuter, Outer suburban, some express services, inner suburban and Mainline services such as London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, Poole, Weymouth, Alton, Basingstoke, and Reading.
Ummmmmm. Lengthening 450s to 5-car would actually cut capacity, as the main lines are built around 240m length trains (i.e. 3x450). Running 5-car 450s would leave trains 2 cars shorter. Part of the reason for the 442s returning is to cascade more 450s to form 12-car trains.I'm not sure whenever the Siemens continues to built more Desiro UK or not.
