Can anyone please advise the mileage from Sin Fin Central to Peartree Stn. Travelled from Derby to Sin Fin Central in 1989 whilst it was still operating the workers trains for the factory. Updating old records and have raked the internet and can't find it.

Amazing what Covid is driving us to do!!!

Thanks

I think it's about 1 miles and 14 chains from Sinfin Central to Melbourne Junction next to Peartree. It's then about 11 chains from Melbourne Junction to Peartree so I would assume 1 mile and 25 chains.

Yes, I was! There were surprisingly few objections. The 2 regular users of the replacement taxi didn't even bother to write in.

I had a big hand in closing that branch, I am afraid.
Good job I travelled it back in the day...There used to be a timetabled DMU that ran down there and back, having arrived Derby from Matlock. Surprisingly I was the only passenger upon leaving Derby; had the advantage of the front seat and the cab blinds up, but oddly enough the saloon lights switched off, until we arrived at Sinfin North. I videoed the trip, but the light quality was poor due to the time of year - possibly October.

I'd have loved to travel on the sinfin branch line and see the 2 stations.

What a tarmac platform, couple of Lamposts and a bus shelter on each ?.
Your easily pleased as they say !. .
I personally regret not having a camera when I drove the 151's up there.

When I started working in Derby in 1987 I would see that train most days and think "I must do that sometime". But never did before it stopped running.

Definitely pleased! I just really like the thought of these hidden former stations now unused and probably overgrown. Wasn't into trains when the sinfin branch line was starting to close.
