Does anyone know what these two services are today? Operated by "SLC Operations" who I've not heard of, and down as passenger ECS not freight:

Is something on test, if so what?

From their website:
SLC Operations
SLC Operations Limited was established in 2020 as a Licensed Train Operating Company and Driver Training Specialist.

Approved and licensed by the ORR, SLC Operations can plan, resource and operate passenger and non-passenger rail services throughout the UK.

SLC did all the mainland 484 testing on the Fareham - Eastleigh line. To add to what others have posted the common factor with Vivarail is that SLC were set up by Adrian Shooter back in 2015 to do this sort of work. It was discussed in the 484 thread when they first appeared in RTT back in 2020, at that time he was still a director.

According to Modern Railways, Vivarail (or more likely SLC) plans to train GWR drivers for the Greenford shuttle at Bletchley in August. 230001 will go there when it needs whatever maintenance can't be done in the Plasser works at Ealing.

thanks i wondered what this was all about - I will have to try and get 230001 in the bag!

It may have been something to do with the Bedford River Festival that was happening over the weekend.
unlikely - although we did get a Sunday service for the festival.
