Splits and RRB's.

I use a Devon and Cornwall Railcard for tickets to Tiverton Parkway and then purchase a full price undiscounted ticket from Tiverton for journeys outside of the validity area.

99% of trains call at Tiverton so this works well.

During the Whiteball Tunnel works, buses replace trains between Exeter and Taunton. The bus between Exeter and Taunton does not call at Tiverton Parkway.

Does this make my usual ticket combination invalid?

If the combination relies on Condition 19b, then you would require an 'exception to the rules' to use that split. Exceptions are normally made for engineering works and severe disruptions, however, they can't plan for every conceivable situation, so check with the appropriate train company before travel.
