Hmm yeah there's some there that need a good think about
It would be lovely if the one to Kyle at the end of June swaps over from AC at Stirling, whatever it uses 86/87/or 90 will be winning track

Fantastic! Really does look to be offering similar experiences to the more enthusiastic based Inter City tours, just more Scotland-centric, really glad to see SRPS back!

I wonder if, given the similarities in tours generally between Inter City (the Diesel enthusiast ones) and SRPS, if LSL will avoid running diesel Inter City tours to Scotland (similar to things like the 40 tour to Inverness) to prevent treading on SRPS's toes.

I should think all these tours will sellout in quick time, especially the class 37 one in particular.

Indeed. AC locomotive on the fairly recently electrified section to Stirling. Sounds like a cracking tour.
Well if it was my tour I would go Crewe to motherwell then through Mossend up to Stirling with whatever AC then Stirling via Aberdeen and Elgin with the 20s, doss
Next day kyle and back with the 20s doss, last day 20s to Edinburgh via aviemore, 37 to Carlisle via Newcastle and Hexham, AC back

Plenty of good tours on offer if you like your EE traction. Class 20s to Kyle and a 50 to Oban are likely to be popular.

This looks a splendid set of tours. Living in Cornwall, trips to Scotland involve a close examination of the good old bank statements, but 20s to Kyle of Lochalsh are only the most attractive of these tours, and ideally I'd like to travel on at least half of them!

Stirling to Aberdeen via Perth or Alloa?

I think Perth it's quicker it's a long drag up as it is, but to have a platform in Stirling long enough for a loco change you might have to use one of the side ones and that may make the choice for you, but 20s via Aberdeen is the important bit, I've already booked my accommodation in Inverness ready for this, cancellable naturally

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
This is a really great comeback from srps and some serious thought will need to go into what if any of this I participate in but there's certainly plenty to choose from
Many congratulations to those who have made this happen

Capital Highlander & 7 Counties Rambler tickets now on sale for £79 a head (child) or £124 a head (adult)
Prices look good!

Just been looking into the different ticket prices as I've not been on SRPS before and these are the descriptions they've provided for the differentiation between first/club. Is club class a new thing for SRPS? I don't remember any of their previous tours featuring carriages with pullman colours.

Update posted regarding the Seven Counties Rambler; 50050 no longer available, so all four of LSL's class 20s will get a run. One pair from Linlithgow to Carlisle, one pair doing the circular Carlisle route, and then the pair of 37s taking it back to Linlithgow. Must be a decent while since a pair of 20s did a passenger turn on the S&C?

The twenty tour to kyle late June has more info now, AC Crewe to Carlisle then 20s via Mossend and aviemore to Inverness, next day Kyle and back, last day Inverness to Carlisle via Elgin Tay bridge and Forth bridge then the curve just after Dalmeny through Inverkeithing and Cumbernauld and back to Carlisle, back to Crewe with AC. No price as yet

Some more diesel tours have now been announced for the second half of 2025, for example:

Saturday 6th September 'The Whistling Clansman' - Class 40 from Linlithgow to Inverness
Saturday 27th September 'The Oban Bucket' - Class 40 to Oban
Saturday 18th October 'The Illuminating Brush' - Class 47 from Glasgow to Blackpool
Saturday 1st November 'The Peak Settler' - Class 45 from Edinburgh to Leeds via the S&C
Saturday 8th November 'The Peak Highlander' - Class 45 from Newcastle to Inverness, return via Aberdeen

Something for most people who like Type 4 traction here...

Was on The 7 Counties Rambler this weekend - first SRPS tour and they did a stellar job. The weather helped, but a really interesting route combined with solid haulage and amazing staff added up for an awesome day - not a paid advertiser, but if anyone is thinking of booking some of their other trips this happy punter can absolutely recommend them!
