Hey,

I'm super confused, I work for an Arriva company TOC, but have never used my passes outside of work.

I need to travel on another Arriva owned company train for leisure.

Does my Priv card cover the free travel, or would I need to buy a ticket and show my pass?

The back states it's valid on the TOC I need but having never used it in years apart from work so wasn't sure if I'd need a ticket too..

Thanks

You can have 75% off most tickets. Check if there is a special arrangement for traveling on other arriva tocs.
Thanks, I think I made a mistake anyway as it's not my Priv card it's an Arriva card so id assume that it allows free travel on the other tocs named on the back.

It’s hard to be 100% accurate on Staff Travel. It’s likely that we’ve got another colleague of yours on the forum but the rest of us would be largely clueless when it comes to reciprocal free travel agreements.

Ask a union rep, manager, similar. They’ll know exactly which pass entitles you to what.

You’ve also got the RSTL Website for details as to how to use your Rail Staff Leisure Card - green topped this year typically allowing you 75% off everything (https://www.raildeliverygroup.com/rst/guides.html).

Cheers thanks, just not used it in a while and now I need it I've no idea what I'm doing. I'll check it out!

I can confirm if you're an Arriva employee you have free travel on Grand Central, Cross Country and Chiltern.

I'm not sure if Overground has a slightly different arrangement but it will say this on your pass if so. I can't be bothered to check mine right now as I'm on annual leave 8-)

Do you have a Staff travel pass? I have one for free travel with the TOCs listed on it. Completely separate to my Priv Card.
Yeah this ultimately led to my confusion, I was mixing up my Priv and my leisure/duty/residential pass. Think I've sussed it out now though

Yeah I think this is just me mixing up my cards.

It says free leisure travel with Chiltern, cross country, Grand Central and Arriva Rail London.

Don't know how I got to the confusion but I got there in the end
