Hi all
Seasons greetings and update on the 10 1/4" Stapleford Miniature Railway, Melton Mowbray
As you will have seen on the gala post, we will be holding two public events at the railway in 2012, both supporting the local hospice LOROS
We have been busy over the winter already on loco work, but sadly 752 the NKP Berkshire which was stopped on stay leaks during the August Gala (while I was driving her:cry

This means that we are two locos down now with long term absent Jubilee leaving the steam fleet with the NYC Niagara, EAR31 class , Curwen Atlantic 751 JHG , and GWR Saint available.
As the Saint is unable to take the standard 9 car set up the bank unasisted, there may need to be some operational changes. It may be that we pair the Saint and Curwen together as last year or even run the Curwen on its own as normal and use the Diesel Warship class with the Saint to give assistance on the bank as having only 3 locos (the Curwen and Saint count as one if paired)
makes intensive operation tight due to the limited time available to run the locos around the wye at the terminus compared to having 4 available. Past experience shows that the public are not keen on diesel only haulage so having a combo may be a compromise.
