Steam to Great Yarmouth 16th July

Just noticed that The Easterling trip from London to Norwich on 16th July, which was due to return via Lowestoft, is now going via Great Yarmouth. This must be a rare one!

Yeah, i was working at Yarmouth station on that day & worked well beyond 12hrs as Railtrack was very unhappy about the train running tender first as far as Norwich following problem after problem with coal & watering in the old carriage sidings. Many passengers where passed by Anglia/Central Trains to return to the East Midlands. It was part of an airy-fairy plan to have a regular Nottingham to Yarmouth steam service throughout the summer. This was the one & only special!!

It was the same day that the Hastings unit operated on local services to the resort.
