The FAQ lists each line outside BW where it is valid - see here. That lists certain validity extensions e.g. into Rheinland-Pfalz. No suggestion anywhere that you can get beyond Kehl when heading towards Strasbourg. Not sure if helpful, but the neighboring Oretnau PTE does offer tickets that cover Strasbourg so that may be a solution - see here. There is a specific mini version that gives you a 24hr pass for Strasbourg starting from Kehl.

NOT included-but in Switzerland some other small areas are.
Cheapest way to just visit it is by TRAM of the Strasbourg system, as the normal urban fares still apply (single or 24-hr ticket).
Most trains are nasty short diesel shuttles by SWEG doing hourly Offenburg-Strasbg, though SNCF also has some shares. Bahn.com wil show what fares are charged for that.
About TRAMs: the Basel system also enters B-W at Weil/Rhein and on the German section B-W is also valid.
For a possible planned slightly longer stay-also for other areas in DE: wait till final details for the new to come 49€/month all Germany (replacing the 9€/summer) will be same as 2 such B-W tickets. Validity will be the same.

Thank you. I can report that the Appenweier ticket machine offers the Europass Mini despite it not being within the validity area. This may be useful to know so as to avoid having to get off and wait in Kehl.

The map shows lines where the ticket is valid outside of BW in a dark colour but it doesn't include Strasbourg.
Thank you, that makes it much clearer

Thank you. 49 for a month would be amazing compared to 24 for a day.
