I am booked on 21st Century Steam’s Aberdonian on July 27 from Edinburgh. i have been notified that Tornado will not be the power that day and that there will be another steam locomotive from West Coast Steam. Can anyone on the forum tell me the alternative loco that will be used?

This site says it will be 45690 Leander an LMS Jubilee Class Locomotive, these are fine locomotives in my book at least. Enjoy your trip!

Despite Tornado not being on the Aberdonian, at least there is another steam loco to replace Tornado.

On the plus side we will get A1 Tornado back in the Autumn, and in 2024 A2 Blue Peter would be back on the mainline again too.

A big step in the return of popular mainline loco, 60163 Tornado, was reached yesterday as the LNER A1 passed its steam test.
