Swindon railway station

i am going to London this thurdays (O9th october) however in order to get very cheap fares it have meant that i have to tarvel from Bridgend to swindon get off at swindon adn wait for 45 minutes for another train to london, i know that the fgw service from south wales to london stop at swindon but can anyone else provide some further info on what services call there

It looks as though all the Swansea - Paddington FGW services stop at Swindon. Are you splitting tickets at Swindon? AFAIK if you're doing that the train just needs to stop, but you don't physically get off.

the problem is that i had to book seperate tickets on my journey to london ie

06:59 bridgend - swindon (arr 08:29)

09:29 swindon - london paddington (arr 10:30)


returning in the evening on the 20:15 london padington - bridgend ( Arr 22:55).

i have been told that there are barriers on every platform, can anyone confirm this or tell me which platform trains to london normally depart from?

Trains to London depart on platform 1/3 on the island. There is no need to change platforms.
