Hi
Can anyone tell me please the process of interviews/tests to be a driver for tyne and wear metro?
On the off chance I make it through the paper sift(which only just closed on Friday) what would be the next stage and an approximate timescale? Is it an interview only and then tests another day if successful or is it tests and interview on the same day? And how long would normally be between closing the applications and conducting interviews?
Thanks

It will take approximately 4 weeks from the closing date until you are invited for an interview depending on the number of applicants. The interview will likely consist of an assessment and a competency based interview. If successful you will at some point be asked to attend the assessment day at Doncaster which I believe is booked up for some time.

If successful at the Doncaster assessment you will be placed in a holding pool awaiting for a start date. From application to being offered a start date could take a few years.

It’s not a quick process unfortunately.

Ok thank you for the reply, im in no great hurry so that is fine by me.
Could you tell me more about the assessment/ interview phase please? Im prepared to be asked questions around my experience in different tasks or difficult situations and questions about the company but will there be exam type papers as well to do on the day like numerical or mechanical etc?
Thanks
