There seemed to be an awful lot of these, going west from Chester all the way to Llandudno Jct on Saturday. Does anyone know why, and how long they are for?

They’re due to signalling works. No idea how long they’ll be in place.

At Flint, there is a 75 TSR just west of the station on the down.
I suspect the PSR signage now says 90, but the 75 TSR maintains the status quo until all the works have finished.
Just a guess.

Should be 90mph all the way from Flint to Abergele, with a short 75mph through Prestatyn. 50mph when using bidirectional running.

But there are a lot of 75mph TSR left over from the Resignalling works.

Thanks. It was interesting that despite them, and also leaving Chester late, we did not lose any more time on the journey. This suggests potential for acceleration, but whether there is anything scheduled for the near future I don’t know. I don’t recall anything in the new franchise.
