My credit card is registered for journeys and is regularly used without problems for my contactless journeys but they never show on my TfL account.

I have removed and added it several times but TfL have been useless: first line support can’t see anything, they escalate to tech support but they never reply.

It’s not a prob day-to-day but on occasion I’ve had a dispute about overcharging owing to gate problems, cancelled trains etc and have had no evidence on their systems and have had to suck it up.

What’s the best thing to do? I do want to continue using the card.

Are you using the physical card to travel with, and register online? Or are you registering your physical card online but using another device (phone, watch etc) to tap in with?

The devices all have a different virtual card number that is linked to your physical card.

I am using my Apple Watch. But I’ve been able to test the registration of another card and apple pay journeys work fine.

My understanding is that whilst the "backend" is clever enough to work out your journeys at the end of the day and charge the appropriate fare, it isn't intelligent enough to link different devices/physical cards together. Unless, of course, this technology has now improved?

So it will see your Apple watch and plastic card as two different card numbers. Hnece the whole use one card/device message to tap in/out with.

The device card number is hidden and I'm not sure of any way to recover it so you can key it in online on the TFL website whatever else it asks (expiry/CVV) to get the journey history.

Out of interest which bank is the credit card with, and who the other bank with the alternative card is with and apparently works?

If it is not possible to recover the device card number, it could be an idea to just use the physical credit card or the alternative card in the future, if it is important to recover the journey history.

This has been covered in a previous thread.

The short version is that journeys on the Apple Pay "virtual" card apparently won't show up unless you use the physical card first.

Thank you, I’ve removed all my cards with the hope of a reset and will try it next week after following that procedure!

I had a similar issue using my iPhone. Once I had completed a journey using the actual card and waited 24 hours all the previous travel on my iPhone showed up.

So, partial success. The physical card is showing journeys after that initial waiting time. I waited 24 hours again before trying Apple Pay on my watch but that journey is not showing (it still isn’t showing any virtual cards after 48 hours) but the charge was taken. Does it need more time and does the weekend make a difference?
