I have my medical for being a trainee conductor for TFW next week and just wondering if anyone knows what this will involve and also how long it will take?

Also not sure if this is a stupid question but do I need to dress smartly or is casual okay for the medical?

Thanks in advance!

About an hour, vision, height, weight, BP, hearing and drugs tests with a questionnaire about previous/current health conditions.

I dressed casually for my TfW medical. It’s done by an external company (Medigold), in my case by an occupational health technician.

Pretty straightforward and. I got my alcohol and drugs test clearance on the day itself - no waiting for results.

It might be worth taking along any medication you take, so they can make a note of doses etc.

Have you been given a start date?

I haven't been given an exact date for starting but I know it will be the end of June

I went in my best hoodie and jeans

If its straightforward and you have no underlying health issues/Meds which need checking up you should find out on the day if you're good to go.

Has anyone had their medical at Chester Station? Just wondering where to actually go once I have arrived? Not much info on the email?

It’s in one of the offices on the main concourse, around the ticket office area. If you speak to a member of staff in either the ticket office or barriers, and ask them, I’m sure they will be able to advise you!

Yes, I had mine there (Medigold). If you ask the TfW gate line staff, they’ll direct you. It’s in the station itself.
