A bit of a curio today. I was off to Baldock today from St Pancras, and while I had my eye on the 10:31 to Cambridge, I had noticed that the 10:01 had been significantly delayed.
Waiting at STP, the National Rail App on my phoned showed the 10:01 arriving around 10:31 (with the 10:31 a few minutes late as a result), but the platform indicators didn't show it at all, so it was quite confusing for most people on the platform when a Cambridge train arrived unannounced at 10:31. Indeed as it was only 2 minutes before a St Albans stopper was due, I wonder if anyone boarded the wrong train?
I got on the train, then got off again when the driver announced that after Finsbury Park it would be fast to Cambridge! Strange though how a train can go through the Thameslink core and not appear on the platform indicators.
