I journeyed up the Far North Line and back on the 28th March 2025.
After staying at the Royal Highland Hotel, I quickly arrived at Inverness station where my 158711 07:00 departure, awaited me. On board, opposite I could see the 158 Aberdeen service and the Azuma Inverness to London service that I caught the following day.
The train was very quiet going to Wick. At times I was the only passenger on the train. Returning it was a full train.
A fantastic day out with amazing scenery.
