Three Bridges ASC vs Three Bridges ROC

Hello! A purveyor of railway atlases here... Following publication of the 16th edition of the Rail Atlas of GB & Ireland which I inherited from the late great Stuart Baker, Geoff Marshall kindly made a post on his YouTube channel about it, and someone responded that "I fear there may have been a confusion between Three Bridges ASC and Three Bridges ROC".

Can someone help out with the difference, and assuming they're two different things, the coverage of each please?

For the 16th edition I pored over the Sectional Appendix to get the latest signalling control areas... I guess I may have confused two similarly-named things! Thank you :)

They certainly are two different things

Three Bridges ASC opened in 1978 and very broadly speaking controls Thornton Heath/Anerley to Brighton and Three Bridges - Amberley (amongst several other bits round the edges)

Three Bridges ROC opened in 2014 and controls the former London Bridge ASC, Victoria Central ASC, Panels 5 and 6 of Victoria Eastern ASC and the East Coastway areas.

Can elucidate further but that’s the overview

Thanks so much for this, hugely appreciated!

Are there any plans afoot to transfer the ASC signalled areas to the ROC? I'm aiming for the 17th edition to come out in 2027 so no point changing it only to change it back before publication!

Not before then, no.

Some info here on the gradual ongoing transfer of Victoria ASC to TB ROC:
