The earliest book on is 04:35 and latest book off is 00:40 with turns between 5 and 10 hours in length. Initial core route is Manchester Airport to Carlisle via Chorley which is where you would gain your practical handling hours and once qualified you will add the rest of the routes to your card in time. Peston doesn't sign 185s so your driving hours with an Instructor will be done on the 397.

Anyone else who’s done the online assessment with 50 questions on data error checking, did you finish all 50 questions? I ran out of time, don’t know how many I got through but don’t think 10 minutes was long enough to do all 50. Works out at 12 seconds per question

Accuracy over rushing through will always get you through. As long as you answer a reasonable amount.

They don't expect you to finish. There is a minimum number that you need to complete but I doubt anyone outside of the recruitment team knowns the number. Accuracy is key, it's a common theme across railway psychometric testing

Ok thanks. Hopefully got all the one I answered correct
These will be the basic tests. The next tests will be a lot harder and the line or face to face assessment centre. OPC enhanced standard.

You’re given a list of company names, dimensions reference number and code. Then at the bottom there is one that you have to find in the list and check it matches everything. If not tick in a box all the errors. Not too difficult. There’s 5 practice questions first and I got the first 3 wrong but soon worked it out

I only got about half done also , doesn’t help having the page so big that you can’t see both boxes at the same time and are constantly scrolling and clicking ‍♂️‍♂️ I was told u need 40 out of 50 to pass. SoI’ve failed definitely

Highly doubt you need 40.

Does anyone know if they will be recruiting for Glasgow anytime soon? Thanks
Glasgow currently has an internal vacancy for trainee driver. There are plenty of applicants, so I fully expect them to fill it.

As far as I’m aware there isn’t any plans for external trainee driver vacancies at the depot for the foreseeable future.

Do you think everyone gets through to the first online assessment? Thanks
No. There will be people who don't progress at each stage. That's the point. Thins down the numbers so only 'the best' get to the end
