Long story short, I'm trying to resurrect a friends Dovertail train sim installation after the drive it was installed to got quick formatted by accident. He had several drives in his PC with Windows installed to a 250GB SSD and a 1TB mechanical drive on which all programs were installed to. The PC was only used as a games / video editing PC as he uses a laptop as his daily driver, so only a handful of applications.
I've managed to rebuilt the drive and folder structure using various data recovery applications and have migrated the recovered data to a 500Gb hard drive which is in an external sata to USB3 caddy connected to my PC as drive H for testing.
Whilst a few scenarios load up and run without issue, for most I'm having issues of missing rolling stock / items from several of his DLC packs. For example the Wear Valley DLC pack. Selecting Weardale and Teesdale Route and then say the Barnard Castle to Bishop Auckland scenario which features the 101 DMU it fails to load reporting that the [WVR] Hopper 21T Coal and [WRV] 5 plank waggons are missing. I did manage to get TS-Tools to list consists in scenario and it seems that most of the wagons have the [WVR] prefix where as in the individual folders the prefix is missing from the freight wagons listed.
I've looked in the H:\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSderek\WearValleyRailway\RailVehicles\Freight folder and whilst there are folders for both 5 Plank Wagon and 21T Hopper they don't have any reference to [WVR] in the file naming. Fortunately the root folder of the DLC had the .ap file the contents of which was opened and examined, and it doesn't contain the [WVR] variants of the 21T and 5 plank wagons. I've gone through the DLC folders and extracted all the .ap files for all scenarios that I could find but still get the error.
I have used TS-Tools to find files etc but can't find a "fix error" type option. - If anyone has any suggestions or guidance on using TS-Tools to resolve this it would be appreciated. Obviously my friend had a fair bit of investment over the years, so it would be great if I could get all of this working... I know I have a mammoth task ahead of going through each route and scenario to find and fix all the errors, and he has quite a lot of additional content. It also doesn't help that TS-Tools is so old it often crashes with a run time error !
