Hi new poster please be gentle!

Just wondering what you have to declare on the transfer of safety critical information form when you transfer from TOCs.

Eg, would you have to declare a safety of the line issue if you were driving but under the mentorship of a competent person, and it didn't go on your record?

It's officially no, but would the previous company be able to divulge any information off the record?

Thanks everyone. All replies welcome :D

No it's not yours in any way shape or form. You've not had an incident and that's what they're asking.

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted my mind put at ease. Last thing I wanted after getting this far was to be denied a job through false information.

You get a "transfer of safety critical information" form from your potential new employer, which you fill in and sign.

Your Depot Manager (or other relevant manager) then counter signs and dates it to say what you have put down is correct. You then have to send it back to your potential employer.

So you will know exactly what your previous/current employer has recorded for the attention of your new potential employer.

Thanks for the info. Was a bit worried that they might put it on there just to spite me. But if it's not on my record then I don't need to declare it?

Well it seems that my previous company are divulging information on my previous safety of the line incident, even though it isnt on my record, under any other relevant information. It completely smacks of sour grapes to me, but nevertheless has got me really worried. Should I contact my new employer and tell them about my incident, and the intricacies behind it, before they receive the paperwork? Would it jeopardise my employment with them even though it isn't classed as on my record?
Thanks in advance

Go back to your line manager and ask why it's been listed.

It's non fault so shouldn't be there

I agree you should contact someone in your current employer to ask/clarify why it is being disclosed. They should be only disclosing things that should be of concern to a future employer (i.e. things you were found to be at fault for and had impacted on safety).

Your safety file (containing everything from verifications, training records etc...) will eventually be transferred to your new employer but only once you take up employment with a new company.
